MCCD Staff decorate the holiday tree at the Peter White Public Library

The Marquette County Conservation District is a large conservation district in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with five employees including a County Inspector for Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Forester, Watershed Project Manager, Native Plants specialist, Groundwater Stewardship Program Technician as well as a District Conservationist from the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). Due to funding received from the NRCS, MCCD and the Alger Conservation District, the Forestry Assistance Program has been given new life for 2010, and the staff is happy to answer questions, provide pertinent information or a referral for your private forestry needs. The MCCD is responsible for educating the residents of Marquette County concerning the benefits of conservation practices. Our conservation professionals work with other agencies to encourage resource users to protect resources, maintain its productivity, and protect or improve its profitability. We provide natural resource management services and referrals in Marquette County.
