Home*A*Syst

Home*A*Syst is a voluntary, confidential self assessment program individuals can use to evaluate their home and property for pollution and health risks. Eight Home*A*Syst chapters cover essential topics that every home owner or resident should be aware of. Each chapter contains key points, along with tables or worksheets that help identify and reduce home risk. The Home*A*Syst chapters are:


  • Site Assessment: Protecting water quality around your home


  • Managing Household Trash: Waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and composting


  • Managing Hazardous Household Products


  • Stormwater Management


  • Household Wastewater: Septic systems


  • Yard and Garden Care


  • Drinking Water Well Management


  • Liquid Fuels: Safe management of gasoline, heating oil diesel and other fuels
